Local Chapter Activities:
Guest Speakers for various science related professions and graduate programs, Study/Social sessions for Science majors, Annual Science Fair judging, Field trips to local Medical Schools, Suturing lessons from local doctors and military representatives.
Other Activities: Our Research students attend the WBCSURC (student research conference) every spring, and we hold our own TMUSRC conference here on campus, as well.

Local Chapter Meetings
This year, the executive board has met several times with the chapter advisor about event planning. We discuss budgets, event ideas, logistics, and the annual induction event.
Local Chapter Activities
The chapter’s first event this year was a co-sponsored event with the Women in STEM Empowerment club on campus. This was in the form of a STEM panel with panelists from various fields, backgrounds, and levels discussing their career paths and answering questions. This was a well-attended event. The next event was a student-led discussion in small groups as part of the #IAMSTEM program for the HHMI diversity, equity, and inclusion initiative at the school. A couple of board members participated as discussion leaders with STEM underclassmen discussing advice related to being successful. The third event was helping the Atlanta Science Fair being hosted at the school. A couple of board members hosted a room that was grassland biome-themed, teaching families with kids about the biome while performing activities. In this room, kids got to go home with some grass they planted. Help was also provided in the form of clean-up by a couple of other board members. Finally, our last event of this year was our induction, in which we inducted 24 students and 10 faculty. Additionally, seniors were honored with a slideshow they got to fill out about their future plans, and a retiring physics professor gave a farewell address. Three board members have been chosen for next year.
