In your letter, please discuss, in your professional opinion, the student applicant’s potential/ability to complete the proposed research project. Address the following:
- Past research experience
- Relevant knowledge from completed coursework (including labs)
- Personal attributes and dispositions (curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, objectivity, communication skills, attention to detail, time management, persistence and flexibility, and collaborative spirit) that tend to be found in good researchers.
Any mention of yourself or your laboratory’s research should be brief and limited to how it will support the student applicant’s research project.
